Wow is all I can say about convention. Once again, SU outdid themselves by providing excellent resources and loads of fun! I have to admit my favorite was the Barbie Commercial and subsequent UPS delivery truck bringing ALL of us attending demos the terrific new Ronald McDonald House Set! I am not a Barbie collector, but even I would have to consider Stampin' Up! Barbie...
As promised, here are pictures of my swaps, pictures were taken at an angle, but rest assured they were all straight cards! ;-)
This first card is a Fall Theme and uses Itty Bitty backgrounds, Flexible Phrases (Fall), Lovely as a Tree. It uses Real Red, More Mustard and Old Olive CS, Real Red Ribbon and 2 Real Red eyelets.
Inks are Basic Brown, Real Red and More Mustard. Used a blender pen for the leaf gradation.
This card uses the True Friend Stamp Set. It used Pretty in Pink, Whisper White and Close to Cocoa CS. Ribbon is the Light Pink and I used the Ticket Corner Punch. Real simple, but lots of layering.
My 3rd swap card used Crab and Company. The cardstock used is Whisper White, Night of Navy and Creamy Caramel. I used Red/White Checked ribbon and watercolor crayons. I also used the circle punches to create the little star (he is popped out with dimensionals). Blender pens were used to watercolor.
The 4th swap card is my favorite. I loved doing this one as it used the Black Magic Technique (White craft ink, colored over with watercolor crayons). I used the flower from the One of a Kind set and the words from True Friend. Stamped in White Craft on the black CS and colored with watercolor crayons. Used Gel Pen to highlight certain areas. Added 2 white eyelets and used the ticket punch again. Cardstock is Basic Black, Taken with Teal and Blush Blossom. Also used Taken with Teal ink on the words.
This card was very popular and my 2nd favorite. Certainly Celery, Real Red, Whisper White and Basic Black Cardstock. Used Real Red and Certainly Celery Markers to color the flower from True Friend. Added a touch of celery 5/8 grosgrain ribbon as a tab. Background used the flower from True Friend stamped monchrome in Celery ink.
This year we participated in a shoe-box swap sponsored by one of our group members. I designed this card for that purpose. I used the Black Magic Technique with the True Friend set. Colors are Celery and Elegant Egglplant.
For our convention gift exchange for our gotStamps? group I made a holder for reciepts, 2 things of crystal lite and 2 chocolates. It is similiar to a tri-fold card. I used Turquoise and Pink Passion for this card. I also got to play with the new Scallop Edge Punch (love it!).
Whew! That was a lot of information about what I did for convention. Over the next few weeks I will select a few of my favorite "received" swap cards to share with you.
